Randomly picked these up as a PWP (purchase with purchase) during my last trip to Watsons. Was intrigued because of two reasons: 1. Supposedly great for those with sensitive skin, 2. It has Madecassoside. I don’t normally buy Watsons brand facial masks but I thought these looked good so I bought one of each variety.

Madecassoside is an extract from Centella asiatica herbs that a lot of skincare brands have to help heal the skin and has anti-inflammatory properties. You can read more about this on this blog (I think the author did a fantastic job researching about this). So it’s great for those with acne-prone skin or skin prone to red flare ups.
There were 3 varieties in this particular range of facial masks: Moisturising, Whitening, and Repairing. Each mask is RM6.50 but sometimes they have bundle promotions (eg. 3 for RM10) so it makes it quite worth it. The masks are made in korea and contain 26ml of essence.

First impressions:
While there’s no fragrance added, there is a slight fresh scent to the mask. It’s not overpowering or anything and once I put it on I couldn’t smell it anymore. The texture of the cotton mask is really nice. Very soft and smooth, doesn’t irritate my skin at all. The essence is quite viscous and it’s a decent amount. Doesn’t drip off the mask and there was a small amount left in the pack to apply to my neck area.

The mask did dry up quite quickly. I used it while on my computer in a room with the fan on and after 10mins or so it started feeling a bit dry. Although directions say you can just leave it on without rinsing, my skin felt a bit tacky so I ended up rinsing my face anyway. Didn’t see any obvious immediate results, I used the Repairing Essence mask but have not tried the rest. Once I try all 3 I’ll see if I want to repurchase it but for now I’m ok with the mask. I don’t love it or hate it yet. 🙂
