[Mini Review] CAMIANE The Perfect Wedding Pad

perfect wedding pad

So this is a product that was pretty popular on Shopee with some pretty good reviews. I had never heard of this brand before, just saw the product while searching for skincare products. From their description on their official Shopee store:

Camiane operates a luxury prestige spa in Cheongdam-dong, the richest area in Gangnam, Korea that is famous for its high-quality beauty salons. Based on the expertise acquired from operating this spa, the beauty that everybody dreams of was added into Camiane’s skincare products.

I couldn’t find much information about this spa online, their official website is http://www.camiane.com/ and I only found 1 blog review showing what the spa is like: https://m.blog.naver.com/vanilla0109/220729453997 so I can’t comment much about this “luxury prestige spa”. Most of the search results were regarding their products.

So anyway, here’s a quick honest review about the popular perfect wedding pad.

The Perfect Wedding Pad is a skincare pad that is dual use. One side for exfoliating dead skin and the other side for soothing and moisturizing the skin. Basically you start with the gauze side to remove dead skin cells and then switch to the softer embossed side to soothe and moisturize the skin. The gauze part works like other similar pads (eg. Neogen Bio Peel Pads), it feels rough and after use you will see some dirt on the gauze. The only difference is probably the size… these pads are HUGE 90mm diameter pads.

Description says it contains AHA and PHA to remove dead skin cells and niacinamide and adenosine for moisturizing and soothing purposes. Here’s what does key ingredients are according to Paula’s Choice:

The size of the pad makes it a bit awkward to use at first. In fact, after wiping my face there’s still so much essence left that I can use it on my arms too. And to me, the essence feels “thick” or more “viscous” unlike usual toner type masks that are more watery. They also say you can keep this in the fridge and apply on your cheeks as a mask. I saw the video showing them cutting it into half and placing each semicircle on the cheeks under the eyes. I’ve also seen a picture of them placing two whole pads on the cheeks and leaving it on as a mask. I’ve also noticed there’s no fragrance.

Most reviews I saw on Shopee said it wasn’t sticky but unfortunately that wasn’t my experience. I even tried applying it to my arms and after 30mins it was still slightly sticky. Perhaps if you have very dry skin it won’t feel sticky? I found it uncomfortably sticky so there’s no way I would use this and leave it on my skin for the rest of the day. I’ll try using it at night instead so that I can go straight to sleep leaving the product on. It also took about 5 to 10 mins for it to go from wet to dry (but still sticky to the touch).

I must say, their packaging is really pretty and appealing. Lots of shimmer and bling. It’s marketed as a “wedding pad” that’s great for brides who want that Korean glass skin and they recommend using the pads as a 30 days daily care program. I don’t use this every day as I have sensitive combination acne-prone skin, but thankfully I have not experienced any breakouts from using it (I wash after use though and don’t leave it on) and no itchy rashes.

I’m not in love with the product yet, I’ve only used it about 4 times now so I’m not sure if it’s worth repurchasing. I do like that the exfoliation part doesn’t irritate my skin at all. I’m only mildly uncomfortable with the stickiness. Will finish the box and then decide.
